This is a series of educational resources on a variety of topics to support ongoing worship education and renewal throughout the church. The modules are designed to be presented by local leaders with mentoring and support from Churchwide worship staff. There is no cost to use these materials.
With the Whole Church
Study Guide
A seven-session study guide for Renewing Worship invites people into conversation and study about worship, to think and to share with one another, growing together in our understanding of why worship matters and how worship draws us into God’s own mission. The study guide is designed as a leader’s book with reproducible participant pages within it. Any part of the study guide may be reproduced for local use, including the accompanying video, graphics, and power point presentations.
Worship Matters Series
A multi-volume series from Augsburg Fortress examines key worship issues in thoughtful and practical ways. Written to appeal to a broad audience, each book provides study questions for group settings or individual reflection.

Principles for Worship
Principles for Worship, published in June 2002, was the outcome of the first consultative phase of Renewing Worship. During 2001, over one hundred people representing the breadth of this church took part in a series of consultations that led to the formulation of these principles. The Use of the Means of Grace, the statement on the practice of word and sacrament adopted in 1997 by the ELCA Churchwide Assembly, served as a primary foundation for this work. The consultations developed additional principles and supporting materials to address four particular dimensions of the church’s worship: language, music, preaching, and worship space.
Principios para la Adoración
Principios para la Adoración presenta el resultado de la primera fase consultora de Renovando la Adoración. Durante el 2001, más de 100 personas representando la amplitud y diversidad de nuestra iglesia, tomaron parte en una serie de consultas que dieron paso a la formulación de estos principios. El Uso de los Medios de Gracia, la declaración sobre la práctica de la Palabra y los Sacramentos adoptada en el 1997 por la Asamblea General de la IELA, sirvió como una base primordial para este trabajo. Como resultado de las consultas se desarrollaron principios adicionales y materiales suplementales dirigidos a las cuatro dimensiones de la adoración de la iglesia: Lenguaje, Música, Predicación, un Espacio de la adoración.
