This page is dedicated to promoting and celebrating those events which are specifically available to large congregations in the ELCA. In general, these events are designed to support the ministries of larger congregations by building stronger connections between congregations, synods, and the churchwide expression of the ELCA; by developing new networks for mutual support; and by recognizing the unique contributions and gifts that larger congregations have to offer and share.

“Let the River Flow II”Let The River Flow II will be held June 15-18, 2009 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville, Minnesota. Much like “Let the River Flow I” held in 2007, this event is designed for pastors, ministry staff, support staff and key leaders in large congregations.
Keynote speakers for this event will include Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson, Rev. Stephen Bouman, Rev. Dr. Cynthia Hale, Dr. Diana Butler Bass and Rev. Mark Mittelberg.
Special presentations will be provided by musicians Ken Medema, Kim Fragodt, and HeatherLyn Chronis; comedian Bob Stromberg; and sand artist Joe Castillo.
Worship, workshops, fellowship, networking, new connections, and sharing of good ideas all highlight this event.
Let the River Flow II is an event for large congregations or any congregation which feels they can benefit from the experience. All are welcome. Registration cost will be $125 per person, $75 before the early bird registration date. Watch this site for registration information after February 1, 2009.
