Thiel College, Greenville, PennsylvaniaThiel College is a small liberal arts, sciences and professional studies school located on a beautiful, 135-acre, tree-lined campus in the heart of western Pennsylvania’s hill country. Greenville is only a 90-minute drive from Pittsburgh and Cleveland — close enough for ready access to big city culture, yet distant enough to be safe and free from distractions.

Thiel is dedicated to helping you build and achieve your dreams. It’s a place where professors are highly accessible and more involved in your growth and learning than at most colleges, not only because of our low student-to-faculty ratio, but because they really care.

Thiel’s success is expressed in its career placement rate and we’ve been rated among the best in the United States for our math and science programs by Peterson’s Top Colleges for Science. This year we are again listed as a best comprehensive college in U.S. News & World Report’s America’s Best Colleges 2006 guide. We offer more than 40 majors and areas of study from which to choose.

Our small size makes it possible for you to carve out your own special place — both in and out of class. You can become a leader of one — or more — of our 15 intercollegiate sports teams. At Thiel you’ll find 50 organizations, clubs and honor societies to interest you.

At Thiel, we are committed to the integration of technology in the learning environment, as evidenced with our technology-enhanced classrooms and facilities, wireless computing throughout the campus, and notebook computers for all students.

A fitness center offers strength training, cardiovascular equipment, aerobics space and a social center. Student residences — including our several theme houses and apartment buildings — have loftable furnishings.

Our Howard Miller Student Center features a beautiful rotunda with a cafe snack bar serving Starbucks Coffee, the campus bookstore, post office, art galleries and various student services offices. Take in a game at our multi-sports complex Alumni Stadium, where athletes compete on synthetic turf.

As an institution related to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Thiel proudly dedicated its first free-standing chapel in May 2006. The nearly-7,000 square foot structure will serve as the center of worship for the campus community.

As a forward-thinking community, we are excited about our future. We’re growing because our commitment to student success has never been stronger. Come visit for the day and share in our excitement as we continue to grow in our ability to help you reach your dreams. Whether you are already a shining star or struggling to find your place in the universe, we will engage you where you are and show you pathways to excellence.
