Capital University, Columbus, OhioFor Lindsay McCune, it was about opportunity.
For Mitchell Roelecke, it was about personal attention.
For Rebekah Altdoerffer, it was about living her education.

At Capital University, it’s all about “The Education You Want. The Attention You Deserve.”

Located in Columbus, the 15th largest city in the nation, Capital combines personal attention with a balanced liberal arts and professional studies education to prepare students for lifelong learning, leadership and service.

Capital students get more than just an education in the classroom. They get a transforming experience that prepares them for all facets of life. They are taught by true professors who care about their success today and tomorrow. They benefit from hands-on learning and small class sizes. They establish lifelong relationships. They get opportunities to grow and excel academically, athletically, socially and professionally.

A senior from Barberton, Ohio, Lindsay McCune turned her internship into a part-time job as an editor at Bath & Body Works. The basic academic skills she learned in a news writing class, along with practical experience she gained from being on the staff of Capital’s student newspaper, gave her the skills necessary to be offered a full-time position with the company after graduation. “I’ve gotten the opportunity to do all the cool stuff that I always thought I would. I’m going to be a twenty-something with my hand on the actual consumer economy.”

Rebekah Altdoerffer spent a semester studying in Greece. Upon her return, she realized how much she could contribute to the classroom. “I was learning about what I’d already experienced. We talked about the Parthenon – been there. Greek history? Saw it. It gives you a whole different perspective. I’ve had the opportunity to do amazing things on and off campus.”

A music education and trombone performance major, Mitchell Roelecke was drawn to Capital’s personal atmosphere. “The Conservatory faculty involve themselves in our education and our lives. The professors keep tabs on their students to make sure they’re doing OK.”

Founded by the Lutheran Church in 1830, Capital enrolls approximately 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and is comprised of six colleges: College of Arts and Sciences; Conservatory of Music; School of Education, Professional Studies and Social Work; School of Nursing; School of Management; and the Law School. Capital also offers adult learners an opportunity to complete their undergraduate degree with a commitment to experiential and lifelong learning.
